CONFERENCE
Humanizing Technology it is the cultural project which included the cultural contents of the Design Circle, online and offline, In the 2021.
The humanization of technology is the great challenge that technological progress is facing from an ethical, economic, social and environmental point of view.: a challenge made particularly evident by the pandemic situation, with its imposed digital acceleration, its physical limitations and consequently our renewed habits of consumption, relationships and use of services.
With the cultural programming developed on this topic, we have tried to answer several questions, such as: What paths do our online data take? In our lives, what space are the virtual places we inhabit taking up? How much do we mediate our emotions through devices? How much can technologies represent the project tool for the benefit of the planet? And again, what can design do?
The Humanizing Technology cultural project has developed into a calendar of online and offline events consisting of: 11 talks, 6 workshops for adults and children, 3 films and 1 performance, a 3-day conference, "Humanizing Technology through Design" (divided into 6 thematic areas developed with talks and workshops, which brought 34 international guests to Turin).
And finally 2 exhibitions, "Easy as a Kiss", focused on the story of the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, an institute dedicated to the development and dissemination of the then nascent discipline of interaction design, and "Ok google, find me somebody to love", curated by the Young Board 2021 of Circolo del Design, an exhibition that explored the languages and expressive codes used in digital, when looking for a relationship.
