An emotional journey into the history of Paolo Paolini, a craftsman by necessity and a master by vocation, who transformed dreams and sacrifices into a revolutionary vision of school. Through machines, notebooks and games created with his students, Paolini left a unique legacy, partly collected in the volume published by Lazy Dog curated by Francesco Bombardi and Giorgio Camuffo.
Francesco Bombardi, his nephew, will lead us through this extraordinary story, sharing memories and showing live some of the fascinating “machines” that tell the story of Paolo Paolini’s creativity and passion.
After the presentation of the book we will be able to play with the stamps of the master Paolini: starting from the original stamps we will discuss the construction techniques through the comparison between the historical matrices in lead and aluminium, and the stamps made today using laser cutting and digital manufacturing techniques. Participants will be able to create a narrative on cardboard using reproductions of the original stamps.
